I was at the end of a dash at a local police station, got back into my car, no start. Just like that. So I call my service garage he sent a tech out. The wire on the starter was loose. I was able to drive it yo the shop where they found out the bolt on the starter was rusted and was not letting the wires connect properly. $ 300.00 later all fixed. So much for profits today. There is always tomorrow

Sorry all been out for a bit with Covid. It was kind of a mild case but was out of dashing for 9 days. Back being negative and just a little cough. I was fully vaccinated and had a booster shot. In my view they did h there job.

Picked back up dashing today. To give you a little on-site I dash about 30 hours a week, average about $450 a week. Keep in mind this is s side gig as I am searching into a new career. It keeps me out of my savings and investments. I’ve done almost 700 trips and considered a top dasher, by trade I am a router/planner so I know the area I dash really well. The key to being good at this it having a plan. How much you want to make know your cost, and stay with it. They will offer you low rates you just have to pass on them if they don’t meet your goal,

Yesterday was a rough day on the road. Lots of traffic back up due to a lots of construction here in Southern Maine and the installation of upgrading fiber optic. Add that to the Door Dash app we use to get and log out dashes was on the blinks. Call tech support, deleting the app, downloading a new one (3 different times) just a mess that took over an hour during the busy part of the day. In the end it gets fix, not as profitable day as I’d liked, but we will be ok.

Had a mini milestone today. Did delivery # 500. On top of that I have a delivery rate of 100% with 94% of them on time. ( The construction around here is insane.) Good way to start the week. Taking the weekend off to spend time with my family over the Easter Holidays. See you all Monday

The holiday’s always bring out the best in people and this being Passover and Easter is no different. As I dash today I have had some very good tips and several Happy Easter. The weather here in Southern Maine finally warmed up 65 degrees today blue skies, no clouds. It’s makes Door Dash fun. With that I will end this post with a Happy Easter to all.

You probably wonder why I choose Door Dash over the other delivery company’s. Honestly it just felt right. I am set up to do Uber but the feel of how they vs Door Dash was not to my liking. They both have similar ways of getting the order request to you, the pay is pretty much the same, and they both have “Special’s “ during peak hours.I get paid the same day I do the orders. Like I said it won’t make me rich but will keep me moving until I find my next adventure

Picked up a coffee and bagel for a member went to his work location to deliver. I walked into the business, asked for the contact person, he acknowledged it was him. I handed his food and drink to him he was quite surprised, smiled and said “ I love my wife” Best trip I’ve doin awhile.

Door Dash sent me a trip. 15 miles $12.00. A trip I’d never take because it didn’t pay enough but this one was even better. It was for 1 item to pick up…. Alcohol. Yup you bet a booze run. I passed on the trip.
